more stuff i like

Some of this stuff I really like, some of it is not so great.

Have you seen this?

old drawings from a true artist

Hesh up, I don't want to hear any arguing. These are great and you're too modest.

Something fun for a friday afternoon.

Not that I'm really into flowers or anything, but these crafts are pretty cute.

nom nom nom

We didn't do much this weekend, which was a welcome change, and I didn't craft at all. But I did make pancakes! Ricotta/ginger/coconut flake pancakes topped with bananas. Delicious and remarkably simple to make.

IWTSY Project #2

I think we'd both agree that typography's power is limitless.

Your project:

• Use some/all of this text
• Create a typographic "illustration" of this text (below are some examples), using only 2 colors (black + another color of your choosing)

Working on some drawings based on OkCupid matches along with some wiener dogs for a commission.

sexy illustrations!

It appears as though I'm mostly inspired by animal illustrations...perhaps I'M 5...

Inspiration: patterns

My last post reminded me that I have a slew of patterns saved on my mac in my "inspiration" folder. Each is bright and fun and actually pretty simple. Do you ever draw patterns? I think I'd like to make some fabric from some of my patterns. I cannot properly remember the sources for each image, but I would guess they're from flickr, getty, google, ffffound, etc. Actually, one is mine. I'm sure you can tell which–it's the least professional/well-made. ha!

sometimes i play with crayons

I found this on my work computer while organizing. Am I five?

root veg soup

This may shock you, but Jake and I are battling sinus colds so I decided to make some soup. I thought these colors were great, and was sad to see them vanish when the soup was puréed in the vita-mix. Note the tips of the veggies as I cut them off – dried up witch nipples.

Note: I need to save up for a new camera so I'm not using a point-n-shoot.

Tissue Paper Poms

A project I think I could handle. Thanks, Martha!
I think I'll try some of these this weekend. (Lots of tissue paper left over from the holidays. Thankfully Tillus didn't shred ALL of it.)

felt pillows!

if i had time, i'd love to make one of these pillows!

or one of these...

a wild saturday night

I've been saving envelopes for some time. I think the designs inside are neat. Last night I decided to use some bits of them to cover pencils. I coated them witha varnish but I wonder if it will feel tacky when someone is writing with them.

project #1

You have one week to make something that includes:

• at least one eye from this image

• this color somewhere

• any or all part(s) of this landscape

• and something hand-drawn

best of luck to you, my fladbough! can't wait to see what you make.
